Terming the Iranian leadership as highly irresponsible and untrustworthy, Trump stated that reaching an agreement with them in good faith is impossible. He said, “The terms leaked to the media by Iran bear no relation to the terms agreed upon in writing by both sides. Negotiating with Iran in good faith is extremely difficult.”
Iran also strongly condemned the attacks.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei also criticised the attacks on commercial vessels with Indian crews on Friday Jume 12, 2026 , stating that such actions pose a threat to global peace and security. Notably, three ships with Indian crews were attacked off the coast of Oman recently; three Indian sailors lost their lives in one of these attacks.
In a post on ‘X’, Baghaei also expressed condolences to the bereaved families and the Government of India. He said, “We extend our sympathy to the families and friends of the deceased Indian sailors and express our deepest condolences to the people and Government of India.”
