Suvendu Adhikari Oath Ceremony Live Updates: West Bengal will get a new Chief Minister today. BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari has been elected as the leader of the legislative party, and today he will take the oath as the Chief Minister of the state.

Today is set to be a historic day in Bengal’s politics. For the first time in the state’s history, a BJP government is poised to take office. Suvendu Adhikari—who defeated former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Bhabanipur—will take the oath as the Chief Minister of Bengal at 11:00 AM today.

The swearing-in ceremony will be held at the Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself will attend the event. Additionally, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President Nitin Navin will also be present at the ceremony. Furthermore, in accordance with protocol, an invitation to the ceremony has also been extended to Mamata Banerjee.

Amit Shah arrived in Kolkata on May 8, where Suvendu Adhikari was elected as the leader of the legislative party. Shah personally announced his name. Subsequently, Suvendu met with Governor R.N. Ravi in ​​Kolkata and staked his claim to form the new government by submitting a letter of support from the legislators.

It is worth noting that the BJP secured a resounding victory in 207 seats in West Bengal. In contrast, the TMC was reduced to a mere 80 seats, bringing an end to its 15-year rule.
