Raipur: On Monday April 20, 2026 , a seminar titled “The Importance of AI (Artificial Intelligence) in Mass Communication” was organised at Pragati College, located in Choubey Colony in the state capital, Raipur.

Dhananjay Rathore, Joint Director of Public Relations for Chhattisgarh, served as the keynote speaker at the event.

Addressing the gathering on this occasion, Rathore stated that by utilising AI judiciously and with discretion—while maintaining harmony with technology—we can advance further along the path of development. Sharing his experiences through various examples, he illustrated how AI is making news writing, data analysis, audience engagement, and government public relations campaigns faster and more effective.

Joint Director Rathore further advised that, rather than accepting information provided by AI as absolute truth, one should verify and substantiate such information through authentic sources. Language plays a pivotal role in the application of AI; therefore, one must exercise caution while utilising it. Earlier, the program commenced with the worship of Goddess Saraswati and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Expressing her views, the College Principal, Dr. Soumya Nayyar said that Artificial Intelligence is no longer merely a technology but has evolved into a dimension of communication; she emphasised that, in light of the changing media landscape, one must remain prepared. By understanding AI, we can remain at the forefront of future journalism and public relations. She encouraged the students to delve deeply into AI and to grasp its significance.
Shedding light on the seminar’s theme, Dr. Praveen Kumar Yadav, Head of the Department of Mass Communication, remarked that the scope of AI is extremely vast. He advised the students to exercise caution while utilizing it.

At the conclusion of the program, a memento was presented to Dhananjay Rathore, Joint Director of Chhattisgarh Public Relations, by Dr. K.N. Gajpal, Head of the Department of Education, and Sanjeev Verma, Professor in the Department of Journalism. The program was anchored by Ms. Swaleha Nisa, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Kumar Bahukhandi, Professor in the Department of Mass Communication.
