Faith Returns to the Mainstream: 140 Surrendered Naxals Meet Chief Minister Sai

Raipur: A new picture of peace, development, and trust has emerged in Chhattisgarh. Today on Wednesday March 18, 2026 ,as many as 140 surrendered Naxals hailing from the Bijapur and Kanker districts met with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at the Legislative Assembly complex and shared their joy at returning to the mainstream.

Chief Minister Sai engaged in a detailed discussion with the surrendered Naxals regarding their lives prior to their surrender and their current circumstances. During the interaction, the Naxals stated that their lives have now undergone a complete transformation—whereas they previously lived amidst insecurity and fear in the forests, they are now leading safe and dignified lives with their families.
They noted that roads, electricity, and other basic amenities have seen rapid expansion in their regions, making life significantly easier. Some of the surrendered Naxals became emotional as they shared that, for the very first time, they were able to celebrate festivals like Holi with their families—an experience that was both new and delightful for them.
Welcoming everyone back into the mainstream, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai remarked that this decision represents not merely a personal transformation, but a significant stride toward a bright future for Chhattisgarh. He stated that, by placing their faith in the Constitution, they have collectively set a positive and inspiring example.
The Chief Minister gave assurances that the State Government is working with full commitment toward the rehabilitation, employment, and social reintegration of the surrendered Naxals. He further stated that Naxalism in the state is now in its final stages, and the resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to eradicate Naxalism will soon be realised.
Also present on this occasion were Home Minister Vijay Sharma, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, and Niharika Barik, Principal Secretary of the Department of Panchayat and Rural Development.
