Chhattisgarh Achieves Historic Success at India Skills 2025-26

Raipur: In the India Skills Competition 2025-26, organised by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India, with the aim of providing a national platform for youth talent, technical proficiency, and innovation, youth from Chhattisgarh have achieved remarkable success by winning 12 medals and four Medals of Excellence in the East Zone Regional Competition.

The competition is being held in four stages: district, state, regional, and national levels. Participants selected at the national level will have the opportunity to represent India at World Skills International.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai congratulated the youth of the state, stating that they have proven their ability to compete not only at the national but also at the global level, Sai added.
The state government prioritises skill development and promotes modern training, innovation, and industry-oriented courses. This success is a significant step towards realising the vision of a strong, young, and prosperous Chhattisgarh.

The East Zone Regional Competition concluded on March 2, 2026, in Bhubaneswar. Over 200 participants from Odisha, Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands participated in 59 skill categories. Chhattisgarh participants performed exceptionally well, earning a total of 12 medals and four Medals of Excellence, including one gold, two silver, five bronze, and four Medals of Excellence.
Sunil Kumar Paital won the gold medal in Digital Interactive Media, Khushank Nayak in 3D Digital Game Art, Pushkar Sonbar in CNC Milling, and Atmaram in CNC Turning, bringing the state honors with silver medals. Similarly, Nikhil in CNC Milling, Abhishek Kumar in Electronics, Reshman in Plumbing and Heating, and Satendra Kumar in Web Technology brought Chhattisgarh pride by winning bronze medals.
Similarly, Nohar Lal Patel in Renewable Energy, Om Banjare in Mechanical Engineering, and Antara Mukherjee in Health and Social Care received the Medal of Excellence.

It is worth mentioning that the Chhattisgarh State Skill Development Authority successfully organised the competition in the state. 3,327 participants participated in the district-level competitions in 19 skill trades, of which 381 were selected for the state-level competition.
The state-level competition was held on February 3 and 4, 2026, at prestigious institutions in Raipur, Durg, and Raigarh districts. After practical evaluation, 38 participants were selected for the regional level. Successful participants at the regional level will now represent the state in the national competition. For the first time in the state, the competition was conducted comprehensively and transparently through innovations such as Kaushal Tihar 2025 and a mobile-based MCQ test.
