Not Guns, but Dialogue and Development are the Permanent Solution: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai
Raipur: Another historic achievement has been recorded in the direction of peace, trust, and development in the Bastar region. Under the “Poona Margem – Rehabilitation to Rejuvenation” initiative in Dantewada district, a total of 63 Maoists, including 36 with bounties on their heads – comprising 18 women and 45 men – have pledged to abandon the path of violence and join the mainstream of democracy and development. This is not merely a surrender, but a decisive transformation for the future of Bastar.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai wrote on his social media platform X – that this achievement is a direct result of the strong political will of the central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the clear, multi-faceted security and development strategy of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He said that this incident is proof that “not guns, but dialogue and development are the permanent solutions.”
Chief Minister Sai said that due to the Chhattisgarh government’s sensitive rehabilitation policy, precise security strategy, and good governance-based administrative approach, Naxalism has now reached its final stage.
The Maoist network is being effectively dismantled, and basic facilities such as roads, electricity, education, health, employment, and digital connectivity are now rapidly reaching the remote areas of Bastar.
Chief Minister Sai said that the government will provide the surrendering youth with dignified rehabilitation, skill training, livelihood opportunities, and proper social reintegration so that they can become self-reliant citizens and be permanently established in the mainstream of society.
He said that Bastar is now becoming a land of future, not fear – where peace, good governance, and development are together laying the foundation for a golden tomorrow, CM Sai added. .
