Central Govt approves procurement of pulses, oilseeds in Chhattisgarh for the Kharif Yr 2025-26

Raipur: Union Minister for Rural Development and Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, has informed Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai through a letter here on Monday January 5, 2026 that the Central Government has approved the State Government’s proposal to implement the Price Support Scheme (PSS) for the procurement of pulses and oilseed crops in Chhattisgarh during the Kharif marketing year 2025-26.
According to the letter from the Union Minister, approval has been granted for the procurement of 21,330 metric tons of Tur, 25,530 metric tons of Urad, 240 metric tons of Moong, 4,210 metric tons of Soybean, and 4,210 metric tons of Groundnut at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) in Chhattisgarh.
The procurement of these crops will be done under the Price Support Scheme at the Minimum Support Price, ensuring that farmers receive a fair price for their produce.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed hope in his letter that this decision will provide significant relief to farmers producing Tur, Urad, Moong, Soybean, and Groundnut, and they will not be forced to sell their crops at distress prices.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed his gratitude to the Central Government for this decision, stating that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, protecting the interests of farmers is our top priority.
He said that the state government will complete all preparations for procurement at MSP in a timely manner to ensure maximum benefit for the farmers. This decision will provide economic security to the farmers of the state, encourage the production of pulses and oilseeds, and strengthen the rural economy, CM Sai added.
