New Delhi : Sergio Gor, a close aide to US President Donald Trump, has arrived in India on a six-day visit. He has been appointed by the Trump administration as the next US Ambassador to India, a position the US Senate has also confirmed. The United States has appointed Sergio Gor as its next ambassador to India. He has arrived in India and will officially assume office on Monday. Before assuming charge at the US Embassy in New Delhi, Gor met with Prime Minister Modi on Saturday. He stated that President Donald Trump considers Prime Minister Narendra Modi a great and personal friend. Sergio Gor also stated that the United States values ​​its relationship with India.

Sergio Gor’s comments come amid tensions in India-US relations due to the Trump administration’s imposition of a 50 percent tariff on Indian imports. “I had a wonderful meeting with Prime Minister Modi. We discussed bilateral issues, including defense, trade, and technology. We also discussed the importance of critical minerals,” Gor said in an X post. Sergio Gor is on a six-day visit to New Delhi following his confirmation by the US Senate as US Ambassador to India.
