Raipur (Pragati College ) : On the occasion of National Sports Dayon Friday August 29, 2025 , a one-day sports competition was organised in Pragati College , Choubey Colony , Raipur , Chhattisgarh under the guidence of Sports officer Adarsh Mishra .

Sports Officer Adarsh Mishra while welcoming all the players said that sports build important life skills such as teamwork, discipline, perseverance, resilience, and a healthy lifestyle and encouraged everyone to participate actively, stressing that every effort and every lesson learned is valuable, Mishra Said .

On the occasion of this event, Principal-in-charge Dr. K.N. Gajpal explained the importance of National Sports Day, which is organised every year on 29th August on the birth anniversary of Major Dhyanbandh, who is called the magician of hockey, and propounded the importance of sports and games in human life, saying that competition is a necessary battle of human life, without competition human life is dull, hence competition is very important. KN Gajpal added.

One should enter any competition with full heart and enthusiasm, no matter what the result is. Participating in sports is more important than winning or losing in the game.
To mark the National Sports Day, a carrom competition was organised, the results of which are as follows – In the women’s category, Mansi Sahu BSc final was the winner and Neelam Pandey BSc final was the runner-up.

In the men’s category, Sushil Dode BCA 2nd year was the winner and Sujal Chauhan BSc 2nd year was the runner-up in the carrom singles competition.
In men’s doubles, Sushil Dode BCA 2nd year and Soheb Khan BCA 2nd year were the winners and Sujal Chauhan BSc 2nd year and Satyakam Soni BSc 1st year were the runners-up.
At the end of the program, the Principal-in-Charge felicitated the winners and runners-up by giving them trophies. On this occasion, all the professors and students of the college were present.
