Why did he form the party?

In his announcement, Musk criticized the current political system and said, ‘When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste and corruption, we are living in a one-party system, not a democracy.’ He also said that the America Party has been formed to bring back your lost freedom.

Musk posted a poll on his platform X during the US Independence Day celebrations on July 4, in which he asked his followers – ‘Independence Day is the best time to ask if you want freedom from the two-party (some people call it one-party) system! Should we form the America Party?’

More than 65% people supported Musk in the poll

In this poll, 65.4% people voted ‘yes’, while 34.6% said ‘no’. Musk described this strong public support as the inspiration for launching the party and presented it as a response to the growing dissatisfaction among the public towards both major parties – Republican and Democratic.

Earlier, Musk had hinted at the possibility of starting a third political party in the US after receiving a positive response to a post on X. In which it was said – ‘Elon starting a third party is like Tesla and SpaceX. The chances of success are low, but if the party succeeds, the game will change completely.’

Musk has announced the formation of a new political party at a time when he has recently distanced himself from the Trump administration and has also exited DOGE, due to which a significant change is being seen in his political and public life.
