Shashi Tharoor on India Pakistan Ceasefire: Shashi Tharoor rejected Trump’s suggestion of India-Pakistan mediation during his US visit. He believes that terrorists and victims cannot be treated the same.

Shashi Tharoor US Visit: Congress MP Shashi Tharoor rejected US President Donald Trump’s suggestion to resolve the issue by holding talks between India and Pakistan. He said that those who spread terrorism and those who believe in democracy cannot be equal, so it is not right to compromise between them. He said that terrorists and their victims cannot be considered the same.

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor said that when there is no equality between the two parties, there is no scope for mediation. He clarified that it is not possible to weigh those who spread terrorism and those who are affected by it on the same scale. He gave this statement in response to the claim of US President Donald Trump, in which Trump had said that he has played an important role in reducing the growing tension between India and Pakistan.

Shashi Tharoor said this big thing about Pakistan

Shashi Tharoor is currently on a visit to America with a delegation of ‘Operation Sindoor’. On Thursday, while speaking at the ‘Council on Foreign Relations’, he said, “Mediation is a word that India does not accept.” He explained that such words create an illusion of equality between the two sides, while in reality there is no such equality. Tharoor clearly said that those who spread terrorism and their victims cannot be kept at the same level.

The Congress MP said that a country that gives shelter to terrorists cannot be compared to a country that is democratic and is engaged in its work peacefully. He also said that a country that wants peace and just expects its neighbors to live in peace cannot be compared to a country that wants to change the map of the world. In such a situation, when both the sides are so different, it is not possible to talk about any kind of mediation between them.

What did Donald Trump say on India-Pakistan ceasefire?

US President Donald Trump says that on May 10, 2025 he held talks between India and Pakistan, due to which both the countries immediately agreed to stop the fighting. Trump has said many times that he has ended the tension between the two countries. He also said that if India and Pakistan stop fighting, then America will do business with them.
