Several people died in a stampede outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru before the celebration of Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) historic victory in IPL 2025. At the same time, a large number of people have been injured, who have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Now new information is coming out about the accident. The reason for the accident is not only the crowd, but also negligence at the venue.

In fact, some videos of the incident have surfaced, in which the uncontrolled crowd of fans is seen climbing on a car parked outside the stadium, due to which it got badly damaged. Now many serious questions are being raised on this whole matter regarding crowd control, preparations for the event and security arrangements. At the same time, the administration has started an investigation and a detailed report of the accident has been sought.

How did the accident happen?

Thousands of RCB fans had reached the Chinnaswamy Stadium to cheer for their team and catch a glimpse of the winning players. During this, a huge crowd stood on a temporary slab placed over a drain. It is being said that the slab could not bear the weight of the people and suddenly broke, causing a stampede.

Eyewitnesses said that many people fell down with the breaking slab and were crushed in the crowd. 7 people lost their lives in the stampede while dozens were injured.

Questions on organisation and crowd control

Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) had organized a special program in honor of RCB players. A large number of people had reached the stadium for this. There have been allegations of not having adequate security and crowd control arrangements before the program.

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar’s reaction

Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar said, “I cannot confirm the exact number of dead or injured right now. I am going to the spot. We had deployed more than 5000 security staff. The situation is being monitored and detailed information will be shared soon.”
