Rajiv Krishna is the new DGP of UP: UP has got its new DGP. 1991 batch IPS officer Rajiv Krishna has been appointed as DGP.

The state government has appointed 1991 batch IPS officer Rajiv Krishna as DGP. Rajiv Krishna, who is handling the responsibility of Director Vigilance along with the Chairman of UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, has been made DGP by superseding 11 senior IPS officers. Let us tell you that outgoing DGP Prashant Kumar could not get an extension of service, after which Rajiv Krishna was announced to be made DGP late in the evening.

Let us tell you that Rajiv Krishna, originally a resident of Gautam Buddha Nagar, has done engineering from Electronics and Communication. He has also received the President’s Gallantry Award twice. He still has four years and one month left for his retirement, due to which he can remain the DGP of the state for a long time.

He was the hero of the constable recruitment exam

In fact, after the paper of the written examination for direct recruitment of 60,244 posts of constable civil police in the state was leaked, the state government had handed over the responsibility of the post of Chairman of the Recruitment Board to Rajiv Krishna. He successfully completed the examination, due to which the state government, acknowledging his ability, has decided to make him the head of the state police. Rajiv Krishna has also been the police captain of many districts including Lucknow. Apart from this, he has also been the ADG zone of Lucknow. His wife Meenakshi Singh is a senior IRS officer and is posted at the headquarters of the Income Tax Department in Lucknow.

These were superseded

Shafi Ahsan Rizvi, Ashish Gupta, Aditya Mishra of 1989 batch, Sandeep Salunke, Daljit Singh Chaudhary, Renuka Mishra, Bijay Kumar Maurya, MK Bashal, Tilottama Verma of 1990 batch, Alok Sharma and Piyush Anand of 1991 batch.

He has been the captain of many districts

Rajiv Krishna has also been the police captain of many districts including Lucknow, Mathura, Etawah, Agra and Noida. During his posting in Etawah, he had also wiped out a gang of dacoits. Apart from this, he has also been ADG Zone of Lucknow and IG Operations in Border Security Force on central deputation. He also played an important role in the formation of ATS in UP. His wife Meenakshi Singh is a senior IRS officer and is posted in the headquarters of Income Tax Department in Lucknow.
