New Delhi : With the onset of winter in Delhi, the problem of air pollution has also increased. At present, the AQI in the capital has crossed 400 and reached a critical level. To deal with this, the administration has ordered the implementation of Stage 4 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP-4) in the city. Meanwhile, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has attacked the central government on the problem of pollution.

Congress leader Tharoor posted on his social media platform X and wrote that Delhi is officially the most polluted city in the world. Its AQI is 4 times more than the dangerous level and almost five times more than the second most polluted city Dhaka. It is inhuman that our government has been seeing this problem for years and is not doing anything about it. Referring to the problems caused by pollution in Delhi, the Congress leader questioned its being the national capital. Tharoor said that due to air pollution from November to January, this city is not livable and is barely livable during the rest of the year. Should it remain the capital of the country?

AQI at dangerous levels
Pollution in the city remained in the severe category for the second consecutive day on Tuesday. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the AQI in the city was recorded around 488 at around 8 am today. Due to increasing pollution in the city, people are facing health problems, especially children, elderly and people suffering from pre-existing diseases are facing more problems.
